Why the EU is rewriting its cloud rules
Brussels wants companies to be able to move their data between providers in days, not months, and without paying to leave.
The draft also asks who can be made to hand data over, and to whom.
Follow blogs, news sites and YouTube channels, read articles without the clutter, and save links from any tab. Everything you keep is end-to-end encrypted. Included in every plan.
Follow every blog, site and channel you read in one quiet list. Our fetcher knows a feed was asked for, never by whom.
Paste a site's address or a YouTube channel and Reader finds its feed, or bring yours over from another reader as an OPML file. Videos play inside Reader only after you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com. Once one plays, YouTube receives your IP address, as with any embedded video.
Articles open cleaned up: the text, its pictures and who wrote it, without ads or scripts. Keep a readable copy and the article's images are kept inside it, up to the copy's 5 MB, so it still works if the site goes away.
Put the Save to jellysuite link in your bookmark bar and click it on any page to save it with a note, into a folder. On an iPhone, build the Shortcut by following the steps in Settings → Reader. Some sites with strict security settings block bookmark-bar links in Safari.
Mark one of your mail aliases as your newsletter alias and sign up with it. Its mail shows up in Jelly Reader, next to your feeds, instead of in your inbox.
Share a folder of feeds and bookmarks with your team. Shared folders are opt-in: you choose which ones to follow. Each person's read state is their own, so what you've read stays new for everyone else.
Unread brings every feed together, newest first. Star what you want to keep: items you haven't starred are cleared after 90 days, and each feed keeps its newest 1,000.
Pictures in feeds and articles come through the fetcher too, so the sites never see your IP address.
When a page won't clean up, open it on its own site. Set a feed to always open there, in a new tab.
Find items and saved pages. Your device builds the search index and keeps it encrypted, and your search terms never reach us.
Import your feeds from another reader as OPML, or your bookmarks from a browser's export file.
j and k move through the list, m marks read or unread, s stars, and Shift+A marks everything as read.
Everything you keep in Reader is sealed on your device. Feeds are fetched by a separate server that never learns who asked (how it works). Here's what's left for us to see, including the one thing we can't rule out.
