Channels and direct messages
Public channels for the whole team, private channels for the people and groups you choose. Message one person, or one to seven others in a group conversation. #general is there from the start.
Channels, direct messages, threads and files for your team, with every message, channel name and reaction encrypted on your device. Part of the Plus plan.
Jelly Chat is where your team talks things through in channels, threads and direct messages, with every message end-to-end encrypted.

Reply in a thread to keep a channel readable. React with emoji, and @mention a person, or @channel and @here to get everyone's attention. Even the emoji are encrypted.
Pin the messages people keep asking about. Drag in a file or paste an image and it is encrypted before it uploads, file name included. Images show inline.
Your device builds a search index of the messages it has loaded, and keeps it encrypted. Your search terms are never sent to us, because we couldn't run the search anyway.
Someone who joins a channel, or is added to a private one, can read everything posted there before they arrived.
When someone leaves a private channel or the team, the channel gets a new key. They can't read what's posted after that. What they already had stays readable to them, as in any encrypted app.
Start a call from any channel or direct message. The people in it join with one click, and it's end-to-end encrypted like every Jelly Video call.
See who is typing as they type. That signal is encrypted too, and never stored.
Bold channels, a badge for mentions and a New messages line where you left off, across your devices.
Browser or desktop notifications for direct messages and mentions. Choose all messages, mentions only or nothing for any channel, or mute it.
Fix your own message or remove it. Deleting removes the encrypted copy from our servers. Channel owners can remove other people's messages.
Bold, italic, code, links, quotes and lists. Messages are shown as formatted text and never as raw HTML.
Every message carries its author's signature. Your app drops anything that doesn't check out, so the server can't invent a message or pass it off as someone else's. It could still serve back an older copy of a message you edited or deleted.
Retire a channel without losing it. Its messages stay readable and the app stops posting.
What was said, where, and about what is sealed on your device. We store the locked entries and know who is in each channel, and when entries were added.
